Our activities encompass the whole materials cycle, from exploration and extraction, through characterisation, processing, forming, finishing and application, to product recycling. We promote and develop all aspects of materials science and engineering, mineralogy, mining, extraction and associated technologies. We are able to assist clients in material processability evaluation with a broad combination of processing and material characterization techniques. We possess high end equipment and advanced instrumentation for chemical, analytical, thermal, physical, optical and electrical analysis. Regular clients/partners become member of a user/sponsor group called "Cement-Immobilisates-Concrete", and in close cooperation with the members of this group:
About every 9 months the
sponsor group convenes at the university, whereby all members of the
Building Materials group, including graduate students, present the progress
of their work and their latest results.
In this way we can help companies to network, and realize innovations that
contribute to a better society. At the same time, new researchers are
trained and introduced, who will later occupy key positions in society. In
other words, by the sponsor group
we connect, drive forward, champion,
and valorize our
full-pipeline expertise and
